The Municipality of Svoge and the Road Infrastructure Agency are in dispute as to who is responsible for the repair of dangerous shafts on the road in the area of ​​the village of Rebrovo.

The channel in question was built together with the rehabilitation of the road in 2016, by the company "Trace".

However, the road warranty has expired and maintenance is now the responsibility of the road agency.

From there, however, they insist that the failed and broken shafts are the responsibility of the municipality.

And so 5 years... and local residents say that the shafts are one of the reasons for the frequent accidents in the area, BNT reported.

The dangerous and broken shafts near the village of Rebrovo were already reported after the tragic accident near Svoge, in which 20 people died.

Then the contractor company sent a team and replaced only a few out of a total of over 40 covers on the dangerous channel.

The road was repaired in 2016, in 2018 we filed a report about these dangerous and failed shafts, but until now no one has taken measures to secure the section.

After the signal, absolutely nothing happened.

They put one or two slabs and that was for repairs from 2018, said Dimitar Tsvetkov, a resident of Svoge.

People from the nearby houses, the tire shop and the restaurant are putting old tires so that no one else falls into the facility, which is left without a maintenance person.

The Road Infrastructure Agency replies that the maintenance of the drainage channel and the grids covering it are in the urbanized territory of the village of Rebrovo and their maintenance is the responsibility of the Svoge municipality.

From there, however, they continue to insist that the canal is part of the road infrastructure and that the road agency is responsible for the repair.

"This is within the authority of the API. - Since when has this issue been commented on? - A year or two," said Valentin Mihailov, Deputy Mayor of Svoge Municipality.

There is currently written communication between the road agency and the municipality of Svoge.

Both institutions are trying to prove that the commitment to the maintenance of the mines is not theirs.

However, the people of the area are convinced that one of the reasons for the road accidents on the Sofia - Svoge - Mezdra road is this unsafe section.
