declared last night to the EU envoys that Serbia will not recognize Kosovo, Tanyug agency reported, quoted by BTA.

"There will be no talks about the future of Serbia and there will be no recognition of Kosovo!" Vucic wrote on Instagram.

The Serbian president met last night with the EU's special envoy for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajcak, and with Jens Pletner and Emmanuel Bonn - advisers on foreign policy and security policy to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Scholz and Macron recently appointed their advisers Pletner and Bohn to provide direct support to Lajcak in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

The Serbian president said he was "always ready to compromise" in accordance with the Serbian constitution and UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (from 1999, which made Kosovo and Metohija part of Serbia's territory).

"No recognition of Kosovo!

It won't happen!

Long live Serbia!" Vucic wrote on Instagram.

Before arriving in Belgrade, the three diplomats were in Pristina, where they met with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, reports the HINA agency.

European Commission spokesman Peter Stano stated earlier that the purpose of this visit is to explore the possibilities for progress in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron sent a joint letter to Kurti and Vučić on September 4, urging them to show readiness to take difficult decisions at a decisive moment for the security of the European continent and for the stability of the Western Balkans region.

EU envoy Miroslav Lajcak said after meetings with Kurti and Vucic yesterday that talks would continue.

chaired a meeting of the National Security Council, at which the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the organization of Europride 2022 in Belgrade, the energy crisis and energy security were discussed, reports B-92.

After the meeting, Vucic addressed the nation in which he stated that "the situation is dire."

The Serbian president said he spoke for two hours last night with the envoys of Olaf Scholz and Emmanuel Macron.

According to Vucic, they presented him with a proposal that should lead to an immediate and final solution to the problems and unresolved issues related to Kosovo.

Vucic said the talks were by no means easy.

"Representatives of the most influential countries in Europe think that it is not good to have new conflicts after we have the situation in Ukraine;

the major Western powers want to solve these problems because there is a war in Europe," Vucic said.

According to him, Western countries believe that a potential agreement or decision (between Belgrade and Pristina) will make it easier for them to give a clear answer to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the issue of legal precedent and recognition of Kosovo's independence.

"So somewhere in all this we have become an indirect victim of the conflicts between the great powers and their behavior in the past," Vucic summed up.
