The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) published a report in which it suggested that the Ukrainian military could take the key town in the area of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, Kupyansk, "within the next 72 hours."

According to the ISW report, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are located 15 km from Kupyansk and will shell the city during the night.

Geolocation footage shows damage from an alleged Ukrainian attack on the Russian military headquarters in occupied Kupyansk.

"The relatively fast speed of the advance of the Ukrainian troops, the proximity to Kupyansk and the ability to shell the city cause panic in the Russian rear," ISW notes.

The capture of Kupyansk will hinder Russian offensive and defensive operations, but it will not completely break the communication of the Russian troops with the occupied Izyum, experts estimate.

Ukrainian forces also continue to strike control points and ammunition depots in the Kherson region, according to the Institute's daily report.

Vitaly Hanchev, appointed by Russia as the head of the administration of the occupied areas of the Kharkiv region, announced the day before the evacuation of all women and children from the city of Kupyansk and the Kupyansk district, as well as the Izyum district, referring to the intensification of Ukrainian artillery and missile strikes, but most likely due to the continuation of ground operations. , experts believe.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia does not comment on Ukraine's statement about the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region, and the Russian Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasyl Nebenzia, said that "of course, there is no question of a breakthrough", "several peripheral villages have been taken."
