Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday expressed condolences to those who drowned during Ganpati immersion in various districts of the state.

He tweeted, "The news of the untimely death of many people due to drowning in the canal during Ganpati immersion in Mahendragarh and Sonipat districts is heart-wrenching." 

The Chief Minister said, "We all stand with the families of the deceased in this difficult time. The NDRF team has saved many people from drowning, I pray for their speedy recovery."

Let us tell you that during Ganpati immersion in Sonepat, a major accident happened at Mimarpur Ghat of Yamuna.

Three people died due to drowning while immersing the idol of Ganesha.

The dead include son, nephew and father.

After getting information about the accident, the local police reached the spot. 

The bodies of Sunil and his nephew Deepak have been recovered by the police.

Divers are trying to find the body of Sunil's son Karthik.

All three were residents of Sundar Sanwari in Sonepat.

Sonepat Police has sent the bodies to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
