Finland has announced that it will not review its previous decisions on Turkey's requests for the extradition of persons wanted by the Turkish authorities, reports BTA.

The Finnish Ministry of Justice has refused to review previously rejected files of individuals whose extradition Ankara is demanding.

"The decisions are final. Turkey has been notified that the cases cannot be reviewed again," said ministry spokeswoman Sonia Varpasuo.

Turkey: Sweden and Finland have not returned a single person wanted for terrorism

The foreign ministers of Turkey, Finland and Sweden signed a memorandum on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Madrid on June 28, removing obstacles to the two Scandinavian countries joining the alliance.

The document envisages cooperation with Ankara in the fight against terrorism, in particular the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and its offshoots, as well as the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETO), which Turkish authorities say was behind the 2016 coup attempt.

Last month, Turkey's justice minister complained that Sweden and Finland had not returned a single wanted terrorist, as Turkey had expected.

"Turkey and Finland have not extradited anyone wanted for terrorist offenses to Turkey. After this memorandum, we have renewed our requests sent before, submitted new requests as well as requests that were rejected before. There is no positive or negative response to these requests "Our desire is to extradite persons wanted for terrorism," the minister stressed at the time.
