"Although Russia's use of Belarusian territory played an important role in Russia's failed offensive on Kyiv early in the invasion, Belarusian forces have limited offensive capabilities and are unlikely to deploy their forces in Ukraine.

It is very unlikely that these exercises are evidence of preparations for direct participation of Belarus in the war in Ukraine," says the intelligence report published by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain on September 9.

On September 8, another command and staff exercise of the Armed Forces began in Belarus, which should last until September 14.

At the exercise, among other things, they will practice "conducting combat (special) actions in the liberation of the territory temporarily captured by the enemy."

Ukraine has previously expressed concern about these exercises.

According to the representative of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Aleksey Gromov, it is not excluded that the border areas of the Volyn, Rivne, and Zhytomyr regions may be meant by the "liberation of the territory temporarily captured by the enemy", because, according to him, this "corresponds to the concept of joint actions of the armed forces of the so-called "union state" on the Ukrainian direction".

Ukraine also began conducting exercises near the Belarusian border - in the Zhytomyr, Rivne and Volyn regions.
