The participants of the event first got acquainted with the exhibition dedicated to the 190th anniversary of Khurshidbanu Nateva.

After the resumption of the activities of the "Majlisi-uns", which was once active in Shusha under the patronage of Khan's daughter Khurshidbanu Nateva, attended by well-known poets and musicians of the region, and had a special role in shaping the literary environment of the time, the first meeting was organized in front of Khan's daughter's house.

Speaking at the meeting, the Minister of Culture Anar Karimov said that large-scale construction works are being carried out in all fields in accordance with the instructions of the country's leadership in our territories freed from occupation.

He said that at the same time, the restoration of cultural infrastructure and the realization of projects aimed at returning our culture to our historical homelands have been identified as one of the priority issues in the activity of the Ministry of Culture.

Emphasizing the importance of restoring the "Assembly-uns", the minister noted that this literary assembly, which was established in Shusha in 1864 with the participation of poetry and art figures, expanded its activities since 1872 under the patronage of the outstanding figure of Azerbaijani poetry, Khurshidbanu Nateva.

"Majlisi-uns", which was attended by well-known poets and musicians of the region, played an important role in the formation of the literary environment in Karabakh and in Azerbaijan in general and the upbringing of literary generations at that time.

The young poets who participated in the assembly took part in literary discussions and learned the intricacies of the art of poetry from the masters.

The minister drew attention to the fact that after the liberation of our lands from occupation, it was decided to establish the "Majlisi-uns" Literary Assembly Public Union to preserve and promote this tradition of Karabakh literary assemblies.

The main goals of the Union's activity are to research the literary and cultural heritage of Karabakh, to carry out its promotion in Azerbaijan and beyond its borders, to support the development of modern literary processes and creative people, and to organize measures for the protection, development and promotion of the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
