The European Central Bank (ECB) increased the discount rate by 0.75%.

It was the first time in the last 24 years that the interest rate was increased in this volume.

"APA-Economics" reports with reference to the ECB that the discount rate has been raised from 0.50% to 1.25% as predicted.

Also, the ECB raised the deposit rate (the interest rate banks pay on deposits they hold at the central bank) from 0% to 0.75%, and the marginal rate from 0.75% to 1.50%.

It should be noted that at the previous meeting on July 21, the European Central Bank raised the interest rate from 0.00% to 0.50%.
