The head of the Independent Education Union of Albania (SPASH), Nevrus Kaptelli, has praised the Government of Kosovo, saying that it has helped its citizens during the pandemic, but also now in the time of the economic and energy crisis.

In a press conference together with the chairman of the United Union of Education, Science and Culture in Kosovo (SBASHK), Rrahman Jasharaj, Kaptelli said that "what we have benefited from in Albania has been several times smaller than what it has given Your government".

"The Independent Education Union in Albania that I represent appreciates the help that the Government of Kosovo has given to its citizens during the pandemic and the crisis with the beginning of the war in Ukraine.

What we have benefited from in Albania has been several times smaller than what your government has given", he said to the media, reports Telegrafi.

However, he stated that he came to Kosovo to support the SBASHK for the strike in education which started days ago, as according to him, the demands of the union are fair.

"But today I am here to support our SBASHK brothers in the strike that they have started to realize those demands that we consider fair".

On this occasion, Kaptelli called on the Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the Minister of Education, Arbërie Nagavci, to sit down at the negotiating table with the unions and make a solution for the demands of the latter.

"I call on the Minister of Education and the Prime Minister to sit down at the negotiating table and talk about the demands of the SBASHK, because there is no other way.

A responsible government should first appreciate the teachers' unions.

All of us are the product of the minds and work of teachers.

If the Government wants Kosovo to develop, it must value education as much as possible, i.e. more budget for education and higher salaries for teachers".
