Bulgaria is among the countries that will receive funding from the US for military purposes, as Washington believes that the country would be threatened by possible Russian aggression.

During a visit to the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced an additional two billion dollars for Ukraine and 18 other countries.

Among them, in addition to Bulgaria, are Romania, Greece, North Macedonia, Moldova, Georgia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia.

The financing will be both free of charge and in the form of loans, and the goal is for countries to strengthen their ability to oppose Russian influence, BNR notes.
