Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that the most important high-level administrator of the ISIS terrorist organization has been detained.

APA reports that the terrorist Bashar Khattab Ghazal al-Sumaidai, whose secret name is "Abu Zeid/Ustad Zeid", was captured by security forces in Turkey.

President Erdoğan said in an interview with journalists on the plane while returning from the trip to the Balkans that the General Directorate of Security, the Istanbul Police Department and the MIT Presidium conducted an operation against ISIS.

Noting that this terrorist is one of the most important senior leaders of the terrorist organization ISIS after the killing of its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and his successor, Abdullah Kardash.

"The connections of this terrorist in Syria and Istanbul have been monitored for a long time, and intelligence information has been obtained that he will enter Turkey illegally.

Istanbul security units determined that the terrorist used a fake identity card and was hiding.

President Erdoğan said that the arrested ISIS terrorist was handed over to the judicial authorities on the instructions of the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office after the inquiry of the National Intelligence Organization and the Istanbul Police Department.

It should be recalled that in the 30th Report of the United Nations Security Council published on July 11, 2022, it was noted that the captured ISIS operative Bashar Khattab Ghazal Al Sumaidai was involved in the management of the terrorist organization.
