A total of 25 small and combined classes are planned to function in the municipality of Smolyan from the next academic year.

Today, the municipal council voted on a decision with a proposal to the RUO to approve the classes with less than the minimum number of students, reports BNR.

There will be a class with one second-grader in the "St.

St. Cyril and Methodius" in the Smolyan village of Arda, according to municipal forecasts for the school network.

The student has special educational needs and will be trained according to an individual plan.

After the beginning of the school year, the renovation of a school in Bolyarovo municipality will continue

The municipal councilors propose to form 16 undersized classes with more than 10 students in the protected schools in the villages of Turan, Momchilovtsi and Smilyan, as well as in "Stoyu Shishkov" and "Yuriy Gagarin" elementary schools in the regional town.

There are nine planned classes with less than 10 students in schools in Shiroka Laka, Smilyan, Momchilovtsi, Arda and Turan.

Five first- and fourth-grade students will study together in one classroom in Shiroka Laka, and for the only second-grader in Arda, an individual form with a reduced number of hours is planned.

The schools in the desolate Rhodope villages welcome fewer and fewer students every year.

Due to the troubling demographic problems in the mountainous region, the municipalities provide additional funding to guarantee the students' chamber music classes.
