Two people from one of the most affected by the flood in Karlovsko selo could not stand the stress after the flood.

An elderly woman ended her life in the Plovdiv village of Karavelovo.

A 76-year-old resident of Karavelovo was found dead in his home this morning.

He is believed to have suffered a heart attack.

The man's house was flooded and the elderly man was among the evacuees who were sheltered in the town hall for two nights.

The pensioner then returned to his home, where he lived alone.

Dozens of volunteers and soldiers continue to provide assistance to the flood-affected villages of Karlovy Vary even today.

The epidemiological situation in the affected villages is getting more complicated.

The Regional Health Inspectorate in Plovdiv warned that there is a danger of the spread of infections.

In Sopot, Karlovo and three other villages there is water, the ban on drinking and use for domestic needs remains in force, as it is not suitable, according to the results of the RZI-Plovdiv samples.

Due to broken water pipes, however, the situation remains dire in the villages of Bogdan and Karavelovo.

There is also a shortage of drinking water in the village of Slatina.

The village's water supply has not yet been fully restored.

Earlier today, the caretaker government decided to unblock water and canned goods from the state reserve for the needy in Karlovsko.

The Bulgarian Red Cross is distributing disinfectants, blankets, water and clothes to the victims.

The municipality of Karlovo opened a donation account to support the victims.

Two DMS campaigns are already active - of the municipality of Karlovo and of three civil organizations.

Electrical appliances and furniture for the affected families, as well as support for parents whose children start school - for this, the funds received in the campaign of the "Workshop for Civil Initiatives" Foundation, the National Association of Volunteers and the Bulgarian Donor Forum will be used.
