The water in Dobrich is unfit for drinking and household needs, microbiological studies show.

The recommendation of the Regional Health Inspection to use only bottled water from the commercial network remains in force.

After dozens of reports of deteriorating water quality in Dobrich after the torrential rains at the end of last week, the samples taken on September 3 show deviations from the health requirements.

Seven out of nine samples contained coliforms, Escherichia coli and colony counts, according to microbiological tests carried out by the Regional Health Inspectorate.

A prescription has been issued to the Dobrich Waterworks with a view to bringing the quality of the water supplied to the water supply network of the Dobrich area and the Dobrich-West area into compliance with health requirements.

Today the health service took new samples for testing.

The recommendation for drinking and household needs remains to use bottled water, BNR notes.
