West Nile Virus (WNV), an infectious disease transmitted by mosquitoes, is on the rise in Greece.

APA reports that the National Public Health Organization of Greece (EODY) announced this.

It is reported that along with the infection, there is also an increase in the number of deaths.

It was reported that the number of infections in the country has increased to 160.

The statement noted that 14 people have died from the virus so far.

The virus mainly affects the central nervous system.

It is reported that about 80 percent of those infected with the virus have no symptoms, and about 20 percent of patients have symptoms such as fever, weakness, nausea-vomiting, headache, and muscle pain.
