Just over 460,000 students are returning to schools in Croatia today without the special epidemiological measures against the spread of COVID-19 that have marked the past two years, Croatian media reported.

According to data from the Ministry of Science and Education, in the academic year 2022/2023, about 310,000 students are included in the stage of basic education, which is mandatory in Croatia.

Of those, just under 36,000 are first-graders, which is about 1,000 fewer than the previous year, Hina noted.

Secondary schools will be attended by 154,400 students.

Unlike the last two years, classes in all schools begin without special epidemiological measures to combat the coronavirus.
