The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has stated that the process of changing illegal license plates to those of the Republic of Kosovo (RKS) is unstoppable.

He added that despite the intimidation of the citizens by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, they will protect the citizens of Kosovo.

He also announced that after October 31, no car with illegal license plates will be able to move in Kosovo and border crossing points.

Sveçla said at the press conference that all centers are open for converting license plates to RKS.

"Yesterday, the president of the Republic of Serbia mentioned this process where he actually threatened the citizens of Kosovo, who plan to be part of this process in the conversion of illegal license plates into legal ones.

On occasion, he mentioned the beginning of this process through the identification of two cases, especially in the north of Kosovo, where he also cited that he is a person who works in Kosovo institutions.

Last night after midnight, the house of sergeant Dragan Nikolliq, who changed the license plates of his car from illegal to legal ones of the RKS.

On this occasion, unidentified persons broke into his house and set a part of it on fire.

We tell the president of Serbia, Vucic, that this process is unstoppable and despite the intimidation we will encourage and protect our citizens, from all those criminal activities of Serbia,

Minister Sveçla said that they are convinced that this process will continue and end successfully.

"The investigation teams of the KP are now investigating the case and working so that the persons involved in this criminal case are discovered and brought to justice.

I invite all the citizens of Kosovo, who are subject to this process, neither to be afraid nor to hesitate to contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the continuation of the process and also to notify you of any threat that may come from any criminal or parallel structure of Serbia", he added.

The Minister of Internal Affairs has announced that no car can circulate on the roads of Kosovo without changing the license plates.

"This whole process will last until October 31.

And after that, all those who have not used this chance, this benefit, which the state of Kosovo has offered, will be owners of cars, which are not registered.

The Kosovo Customs and the Kosovo Police deal with this, in which case no car will be able to circulate on the roads of Kosovo, nor can they use the border crossing points of the Republic of Kosovo", said Sveçla.

We remind you that from September 1 to October 31, the process for registering illegal number plates in those RKS, in all Vehicle Registration Centers, was organized.
