Rahul Gandhi made these promises to the public in Gujarat

Ahmedabad:

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called for waiving off loans of up to Rs 3 lakh for every farmer in the state if his party comes to power, giving LPG cylinders at Rs 500 instead of the current price of Rs 1,000, free electricity to farmers and 300 to common consumers. Promised to provide free electricity till the unit.

Addressing the booth level workers of Congress at the 'Parivartan Sankalp Rally' on the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad, Gandhi made several promises to the people of Gujarat.

Assembly elections are due in the state later this year.

He promised creation of 10 lakh new jobs, construction of 3,000 English medium schools, free education for girls and Rs 5 per liter subsidy to milk producers.

Gandhi said that Congress will focus on employment in Gujarat and give employment to 10 lakh youth.

Gandhi hit out at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming that the party built the world's tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat, but worked against those for whom Patel lived and died.

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had also announced several concessions and promised free facilities if voted to power in Gujarat.

Addressing the rally on Monday, Gandhi said, "The BJP-led government here will waive off the loans of big industrialists, but have you ever heard that they have waived the loans of farmers?

I promise to waive the loan of every farmer up to Rs 3 lakh after coming to power in Gujarat.

The former Congress president promised to make available the LPG cylinder to the people at Rs 500 instead of the current Rs 1,000.

Gandhi also promised free electricity to farmers and up to 300 units of free electricity to common consumers if the Congress came to power in the state.

He claimed that while the BJP built the world's tallest statue of Sardar Patel on one hand, it insulted him on the other.

Gandhi said, "For whom did Sardar Patel fight and why?

You got his statue made, but he was not just a human being, he was the voice of the farmers of Gujarat and India.

Whatever he did, it was for the benefit of the farmers of Gujarat and India.

Gandhi said that the three agricultural laws were meant to take away the rights of farmers.

These laws were later repealed by the Narendra Modi-led government.

The Congress leader said, "Farmers from across the country came out on the streets, and the BJP says it fights for farmers' rights.

On one hand he built the tallest statue of Sardar Patel, and on the other he attacked all those for whom Sardar Patel had fought and sacrificed his whole life.

What is the meaning of the image?

Gandhi claimed that the BJP has "captured" all institutions in Gujarat and here the fight is not between two political parties, but with each institution which is in control of the ruling party.

He also attacked the government over the recent seizure of large quantities of narcotics from Gujarat's Mundra port and claimed that the Gujarat model is of three-four industrialists' rule.

He said, "The government will give as much land to these industrialists as they want within two minutes.

But when the poor and tribals plead for a small piece of land with folded hands, they will never get it.
