The mid-term break in February is finally getting longer, and instead of one day, students will have 5 days off next school year.

This is stated in the order of the acting Minister of Education Prof. Sasho Penov, which determines the vacations and dates for matriculation exams and national external evaluation for the academic year 2022/2023, "24 Chasa" reports.

Thus, the vacation between the first and second terms will be from February 1 to 5.

Until now, it was only one day, but the MES announced that it was "too little to restore the strength of teachers and students".

And last year, former Minister of Education Nikolay Denkov gave 4 additional non-school days to compensate for the insufficient time for recreation.

The fall vacation will be four days this year - from October 29 to November 1, because it is combined with a weekend.

There is no change in the length of the Christmas break.

The last classes for 2022 will be on December 23, and students will return to class on January 3, 2023.

However, there is a change in the spring holiday - after years it was fixed from April 1 to 10, it will now merge with the Easter holiday, which next year falls on April 16.

Children will be off from April 8th to 17th, with the exception of twelfth graders, who are from 12/04/2023. As before, there will be no schooling on the days of compulsory matriculation exams and national external assessment exams in 7th and 10th class.

On June 13, there will be the exam in Bulgarian language and literature, and on the 16th - in mathematics.

The graduation exam in Bulgarian language and literature will be held on May 19, and the second graduation exam - on May 23.
