The serious event that shocked not only Kosovo, where an 11-year-old girl was raped by five people, in a park of the capital, has made citizens feel insecure about their children.

The municipality of Pristina is waiting for the opening of bids for the camera system in the capital on September 15.

It is one of the largest parks in Pristina, but the park in the "Arbëria" neighborhood does not even have lighting, much less security cameras.

And it seems that all the parks in the capital have this problem.

This has caused the citizens to be insecure to spend in the afternoon hours in the parks, also because of their attendance by various problematic people.

Citizen Nazmi Vučiterna, concerned about the situation, says that care for children should be increased.

"Perhaps we need to take more care from family members and outside of school, outside of working hours, to have more care in general for children, that is, care for children," said citizen Nazmi Vučiterna.

But, the last case of reporting that an 11-year-old child was raped in the city park, has caused the Municipality of Pristina to mobilize to increase security in public spaces.

This for RTV Dukagjini has been confirmed by the Director of Public Services Ilirik Musliu, while he gives details about the plans of the Municipality of Pristina in this direction.

Ilirik Musliu, director of Public Services in Pristina said: In record time we have reached a public lighting contract where this contract provides for seven lots, four of the lots are related to the urban part, two of them are rural areas and one lot is related to with parking lots, parks and playgrounds.

"As for the cameras, we are waiting until September 15 to open the bids for the cameras, where we have cooperated closely with the Kosovo Police with regard to the cameras... we are working on the implementation part together with the mayor, the first part of which includes the nodes in traffic, public spaces and tunnels", said Musliu.

However, the Kosovo Police did not give many details but a generalized answer, saying that it carries out patrols throughout the country in order to prevent these criminal offenses.

The Kosovo Police, continuously through its operational planning, carries out patrols throughout the country in order to prevent and combat criminal offenses and all negative phenomena that may appear, as well as undertake legal actions in accordance with the laws in force.

Also, to each case reported to the police, police officers respond to treatment and investigation as efficiently and effectively as possible.

The recent case of the rape of an 11-year-old girl in Pristina, after the protests, has also raised many questions and demands from citizens, including security in parks and streets.
