The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, today invited Turkey, Greece, Italy and Hungary to become members of the "Open Balkans" initiative.

In his speech in Belgrade, Rama said that not only the countries of the region but also countries like Turkey, Greece, Italy and Hungary should join this initiative.

"For us, it is very important that not only all the countries of our region join this initiative, but also such important countries as Turkey, Greece or Italy, as well as Hungary on the other side", said Rama in his speech at the "Open Balkans" summit.

"I am happy to see here in front of Ambassador Chris Hill, who, like all successful Americans who come to this region, knows his language and our language, so when you speak in their presence, make sure that they understand us not only in English, but they also understand us when we speak our language", said Rama.

"I am also very pleased that here with us today are two very important friends for us, who represent two equally important countries for our region, the foreign minister of Turkey, our friend and my dear friend Mevlut Çavuşoğlu, whom I want to thank for his presence.

Turkey is an irreplaceable strategic partner of Albania, but also an ally of all positive processes in our region, as well as the Foreign Minister of Hungary, our friend Peter Szijjarto, whom I also want to thank," added Rama.

"In the same way, we made it public at the last Summit, we also invited the Foreign Ministers of Greece and Italy, who for objective reasons and impossibility, with the elegant apology, could not be here, but they will be invited again and I hope we are all present together at the next Summit in Tirana", emphasized the Albanian Prime Minister.
