The Police Inspectorate of Kosovo has requested the suspension of the police officer who last week physically attacked the judge of the Basic Court in Mitrovica.

This is what the IPK announced in a written response to Telegraf.

"Referring to your request, we inform you that the IPK investigators have responded to this case and in the interest of the investigative procedure have recommended to the police the suspension of the police officer in question for 72 hours.

In coordination with the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Mitrovica, a case has been opened with the suspicion that the police officer committed the criminal offense of "Assault", says the response of the IPK.

The judge of the Basic Court in Mitrovica on August 23, 2022 was the target of a physical attack by a member of the Kosovo Police.

The Prosecutor's Office of Mitrovica had confirmed for Telegrafi the case in question, for which it said that it is suspected that the attack came after a momentary dispute in traffic.

"The guardian prosecutor has been notified about the case, and the criminal offense of "Assault" has been initiated.

It is suspected that the case happened after a momentary disagreement in traffic", said the spokesman of the Mitrovica Prosecutor's Office, Valon Preteni.

Meanwhile, the police, through the 24-hour report, had only announced that the case happened on Tuesday morning in Leposaviq, without giving any other details.
