Brazilian justice yesterday demanded that the consul of Germany in Rio de Janeiro, accused of murdering her husband, be included in the list of fugitives wanted by Interpol, the day after the diplomat left for Germany, reported France Press.

In a press release, a court in Rio de Janeiro states that a judge has ordered "the preventive detention of the German consul Uwe Herbert Hahn, accused of murdering his husband - the Belgian Walter Henry Maximilian Biot, on August 5", informs BTA.

They arrested a German diplomat in Brazil - he is suspected of having killed his husband

After the accused left on Sunday for Germany, the magistrate decided to include him in the list of fugitives wanted by Interpol, the Brazilian court also reports.

Khan was detained on August 6, but was released last week because the deadline for the prosecution to file a request to extend his detention had expired.

The prosecution disputes this.

Khan's passport was not confiscated.

According to investigators, the diplomat's Belgian husband died after being severely beaten in the apartment where the couple lived in the upscale Ipanema district.

Hahn, who claimed her husband hit his head in a fall, became possessive of the victim and subjected Biot "financially and psychologically," the state indictment states.

Brazilian police said they were "confused" that the German diplomat had returned to his country.

The loneliest man on the planet has died

Commissioner Camila Lourenço, quoted by the Globo daily, said Khan's passport could have been preemptively confiscated, which would have made it more difficult for him to escape.
