Last week, neighbors had lodged a complaint about offering prayers inside a house in Dulhepur village of Moradabad.

The police has quashed the case registered against 25 people for allegedly offering prayers 'in the open' in Dullepur village of Chhajlat area of ​​Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh.

Moradabad Police gave this information on Twitter on Tuesday.

Police said, "In village Dullepur, the plaintiff Chanderpal etc. had registered a case at the police station Chhajlait for offering mass prayers, after investigation the incident was not found to be certified."

In the same tweet it is further said, "That is why the investigation has been terminated (expunged) my crime Kharijaa report.

Rest of the legal proceedings will be conducted accordingly.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sandeep Kumar Meena said that on August 24, some people were offering Namaz in a house in Dullepur village.

He told that due to lack of space in the house, some people came out in the open to offer Namaz, whereas in the past they were warned not to do so.

Meena said that on the complaint of some villagers, an FIR was registered against 25 people in this matter.

However, no person was arrested.

Meanwhile, Wahid Saifi, an accused in the case, claimed that he was the legal owner of the land on which prayers were offered.

He claimed that Namaz was often offered at the said place since independence, but recently some 'nuisance elements' who claimed to be Bajrang Dal activists had opposed it, calling it a new tradition and on June 3, Chhajlat Complaint was made in the police station.

According to Saifi, on this complaint, the police had visited the spot and after checking all the papers asked to be present in the office of the Deputy District Magistrate.

He told that all the documents were also shown to the Deputy Collector, on which the officials had instructed not to offer Namaz in the open.

Since then, all the people were offering Namaz by staying within the confines of the house.

Saifi said that on August 24, a case was secretly registered for offering Namaz in the open, which he came to know from the media reports.

Meanwhile, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President and MP Asaduddin Owaisi made a series of tweets condemning the matter.

He said in the tweet, “Muslims in India can no longer offer Namaz even at home?

Do you have to take permission from the government/police to offer prayers now?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi should answer this, by when will Muslims be treated as second class urbanites in the country?

In another tweet, he said, "The fundamentalist thinking has spread in the society to such an extent that now even offering prayers in homes hurts the "emotion" of the people.

Hassan said that he visited Dullepur village and found that all were taking advantage of their rights legally and communal harmony prevails in the village.

He claimed that some miscreants had complained to the police station which was found to be baseless.


He said that a meeting of all the villagers was held in his presence and it was decided to build a temple and a mosque from the MP fund.
