The press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko commented on the visit of the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (AEBA) to the Zaporozhye NPP.

According to APA, Nikolenko said that AEBA created a mission to visit Zaporozhye NPP at the invitation of the Ukrainian government.

The mission, which includes 14 international experts, is led by AEBA Director General Rafael Grossi.

A delegation of international nuclear scientists has already left Vienna and is due to arrive in Kyiv today.

The mission is expected to start work at the Zaporizhzhya NPP in the near future.

AEBA's mission will work on three main issues:

- Physical defense,

- Nuclear safety,

- Guarantees of non-proliferation of nuclear materials.

Nikolenko reminded that Ukraine's position is clear: Russian troops violating international rules and bringing a large amount of military equipment and ammunition to the territory of the Zaporozhye NPP puts the NPP in serious danger.

It can also cause the release of radioactivity.
