The Basic Court in Pristina has made a decision to assign the measure of detention for one month, to the minor who is suspected of having raped a minor along with four other people on Saturday.

This is what the spokeswoman of this Court, Mirlinda Gashi, announced in an answer to the Telegraph.

"Referring to your request for information, we inform you that in connection with this case, the Basic Court in Pristina - Department for Juveniles has ordered the measure of detention for a duration of one month against a minor, who is suspected of being involved in this case" , said Gashi.

She added that with regard to the other person arrested for this case, it is expected that the decision will be taken today in the hearing that will be held at 13:00.

"We inform you that regarding this case, the Basic Court in Prishtina, the Department for Serious Crimes today received from the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pristina a request for the appointment of a measure of detention for a defendant, who is suspected of being involved in this case, the hearing will be held today at 13:00", said Gashi.

Five people allegedly raped a minor on Saturday from 17:30 to 00:30.

The case was reported to the Kosovo Police, which through the 24-hour report announced that two suspects have been arrested in connection with this incident.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pristina, Laureta Ulaj, in a response to the Telegraph, announced that the State Prosecutor has submitted a request for the determination of the measure of detention against the two arrested.

"In the case you are referring to, we inform you that by order of the guardian prosecutor from the Juvenile Department, two suspects (one adult and the other minor) have been detained due to the suspicion that they have committed the criminal offense of "Rape", as well as , the State Prosecutor has filed a request for the determination of the measure of detention in the competent court", stated Ulaj.

Ulaj also said that all the necessary investigative actions are being taken in the case in question in coordination with all relevant institutions.

He further added that since the case concerns a procedure for minors, no other information can be given, due to the preservation of the integrity of minors in the procedure.
