will announce the name of the new prime minister within 48 hours, Serbian "Telegraf" reports.

He announced this himself after the results of the meeting of the presidium of the right-wing Serbian Progressive Party, reports BNR.

"According to the constitution, I will announce my proposal within 48 hours - on Friday evening or Saturday morning," Vucic said, noting that the presidium had discussed two candidacies for the post of prime minister - former prime minister Ana Brnabic and Novi Sad mayor Milos Vucevic.

According to the president, the presidium of the party refused to vote for the new prime minister's candidacy, proposing to the president that he himself choose the new head of government, as provided for in the constitution.

"Both of them - Ana Brnabic and Milos Vucevic - will in any case be part of the new government," the president emphasized.

Earlier, Vucic promised to announce the name of the party's new prime minister on August 19-21, adding that the deadline for forming the government is November 2.

On July 18, Vucic announced the end of consultations with the parties regarding the prime minister's candidacy, explaining that 3-4 candidacies for this post are currently being considered.
