The platform for submitting applications for subsidized vacations in September on the disaster-hit Greek islands of Euboea and Samos will be open from today, Sky TV reported

The program was announced at the end of June and provides subsidies for holidays on the island of Samos, which was hit by a strong earthquake on 30 October 2020, and on the northern part of the island of Euboea, affected by catastrophic fires in August 2021.

In the third stage of the program, which refers to tourist trips in September, beneficiaries will receive a card loaded with 150 euros for North Euboea and with 300 euros for Samos.

With them, they will be able to pay for accommodation, meals and public transport in the affected areas.

Persons with a tax address in Greece have the right to benefit from the program.

The subsidized holidays are enjoying great interest and cards from the first two stages, in July and in August, sold out within minutes of the platform opening.

In September, over 9,400 €150 cards will be issued for Northern Euboea and over 4,400 €300 cards for Samos.

The subsidy during the month will reach 2.76 million euros.

A total of EUR 6 million has been allocated within the framework of the program.

So far, 18,075 cards have been issued - 12,050 for Euboea and 6,025 for Samos.
