Kazakhstan is discussing possible ways of transporting its oil with Azerbaijan.

According to APA-Economics, this was reported by Dauren Karabayev, deputy for economy and finance of the management board of Kazakhstan's national company "KazMunayGaz" (KMG) at a briefing held on Thursday.

The details still need to be agreed upon. We will provide more detailed information after an agreement is reached with the Azerbaijani side," Dauren Karabayev noted.

He mentioned that the two oil pipelines of Azerbaijan - Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Supsa - can potentially be used for the transportation of Kazakh oil.

However, after a Russian court in July suspended the CPC for 30 days due to violations of its oil spill response and environmental safety plan, Kazakhstan began looking for alternatives.

The source cited by the agency said that Kazakhstan's national company "KazMunayGaz" is already conducting preliminary negotiations with SOCAR regarding oil supply.
