The Ministry of Education and Science (MES) has shortened the deadline by one month for awarding scholarships to students who manage to enroll in the world's 100 best universities, according to the ranking of the Shanghai List.

Also, MAS does not give any guarantee that such a measure will continue to be applied in the coming years.

In the decision published by MES, the deadline for application has been shortened to August 11, while the deadline according to the initial competition was September 15.

The Ministry of the Interior told KOHA newspaper that all types of competitions and the distribution of scholarships are published on the official website of the Ministry of Interior.

"If next year the decision to re-announce the competition for studies abroad will continue, the public will be notified in time", say the Ministry of Education.

Meanwhile, the opposition party OBRM-PDUKM reacted to the shortening of the deadline for competition for scholarships for studies abroad.

From there they say that the Government is harming the country's young intellectuals by removing scholarships that support students who enroll in the best universities in the world.

In OBRM-PDUKM they say that the Ministry of the Interior is canceling scholarships for Macedonian citizens who manage to enroll in university, master's or doctorate studies in one of the 100 best universities in the world according to the Shanghai list, while those who wanted to apply, by shortening the deadline, the right to finance is being taken away from the state.

"A measure that was approved in 2010 by OBRM-PDUKM and was an excellent opportunity for young people from our country to get knowledge and experience from the best professors in the world and transfer them to our country - from now on, unfortunately, the new generations will not have this option, and the reason for its cancellation has not been explained.

Is it because of the collapse of the state budget as a result of its mismanagement", they ask from OBRM-PDUKM.

They have asked if it is the desire of Kovacevski and his team, who "are destroying the education system in all its segments anyway, following the logic that the more uneducated the people are, the easier it is to rule the country." .

They said what will be done with the students who have been admitted to one of the best universities in the world, or even those who have not yet applied and whose hopes were in government aid.

"There is money for new cars for officials, for restaurants, steakhouses, for golden spoons and forks and what not, and there is no money to support young people who manage to break into the world of academic knowledge and science.

Your feelings for the people and the common citizen have been lost for a long time", OBRM-PDUKM concluded.

Otherwise, such a measure has been applied for 10 years now in our country and mostly every year, about 100 students from Macedonia have been able to receive a state scholarship to study in one of the 100 best universities in the world.
