New Delhi/Patna:

The team of Central Investigation Agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) is

conducting raids in Jharkhand and

Bihar .

Raids are being conducted at around 17 locations by the Enforcement Directorate team.

This action is being taken in the case related to illegal mining in Jharkhand-Bihar.

Actually, during the interrogation of the arrested accused Pankaj Mishra, the investigating agency had received many inputs.

These raids are being conducted on the basis of inputs received from several other accused including Pankaj Mishra.

Raids have started in Delhi-NCR including Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Jharkhand. 

The ED probe began when the agency raided Mishra and his alleged associates on July 8.

The ED had launched the raids in March after registering a case against Mishra and others under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Soon after the July raids, the ED had attached an amount of Rs 13.32 crore lying in 50 bank accounts.

The statement issued by the agency said that "Evidence collected during the course of investigation, which includes statements of various persons, digital evidence and documents, has revealed that the seized cash or bank balance is in the forest area including Sahibganj area. obtained from illegal mining on a large scale.
