The five countries bordering Russia may ban entry to Russian tourists

Russian tourists may be banned from entering Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Finland, if the European Union does not approve the ban in the entire bloc, the Foreign Minister of Lithuania announced today.

"I talked with the ministers from all these countries.

I don't see any big political differences", Gabrielius Lansdbergsis told reporters in Vilnius, Telegrafi reports.

He said that Russians will not be allowed to enter EU countries while their country is committing genocide.

Otherwise, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on Western countries to impose a travel ban on all Russians.

However, since proposing the ban, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has said Russians should be allowed to leave their homes - unless they disagree with the Kremlin's policies.

EU foreign ministers are expected to discuss whether the EU ban on Russian citizens will be extended, given the support of the five countries that border Russia, which began its invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

But some countries that are members of the EU such as Hungary are resisting this ban, and are against its expansion in the EU.
