Two American B-52H Stratofortres bombers, which are part of the NATO armament, will fly over the Balkans today as a sign of sympathy for the war in Ukraine.

The bombers will make low-level overflights over the government building in Skopje, North Macedonia, and Skenderbeg Square in Tirana, Albania.

They will also fly over the coast of Montenegro and Lovrienac in Dubrovnik, Croatia, reports AFP.

"The purpose of each flyover is to demonstrate US commitment and faith in NATO allies and partners deployed in Southeast Europe," US Air Forces in Europe said in a statement.

If the weather is bad, flights may be cancelled.

They are 48.5 meters long, have a wingspan of 56.4 meters, weigh about 83 tons and cost about 84 million dollars.

The B-52H Stratofortress can fly at an altitude of up to 15,000 meters and has a crew of five, hr.n1info.com explains.
