The daughter of the close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has died in a car explosion on the outskirts of Moscow, Russian media reports.

The friend of Darya Dugina, 29, told the Russian news agency TASS that she was killed on Saturday night when her Toyota Land Cruiser Prado was blown up, Telegraph reports.

The car belonged to her father, Alexander Dugin, a close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Dugin is reported to have changed the car at the last moment, while he was getting ready to leave an event where he and Darya were invited as guests of honor.

Russian authorities are investigating the case of whether it was a deliberate explosion aimed at killing Dugin, a well-known Russian politician and philosopher, who some experts describe as Putin's inspiration to begin the invasion of Ukraine.

On the other hand, the images were published showing the car involved in the fire and Alexander Dugin, who was at the scene and could not believe what he was seeing.
