Along the Mitrovica-Raškë highway, in the north of Kosovo, an increased presence of troops of the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR, has been observed.

The increase in the presence of troops in this area was also confirmed by the head of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, earlier this week.

In the north of Kosovo, on July 31 and August 1, tensions increased, after local Serbs erected barricades to oppose two decisions of the Government of Kosovo: the one regarding Serbian license plates and documents, writes Rel.

The barricades were removed, but NATO has reiterated that KFOR is ready to intervene if stability is threatened.
