The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues its activities in the direction of the implementation of its duties, including the protection of the population and territories from natural and man-made emergency situations.

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to APA, on the basis of the calls received on the "112" hotline, the relevant agencies of the Ministry have carried out emergency-rescue operations on 154 fire escapes, 19 cases of being helpless and 1 suicide attempt during the past day.

As a result of the emergency measures taken, the fires were quickly extinguished and people's lives were saved.

In total, during the last day, 20 people, including 1 minor, were rescued by the forces of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including 9 people who were in danger of drowning while bathing in the sea and 2 people who tried to commit suicide.

Also, during the emergency rescue operations, the bodies of 2 people were removed and handed over to the authorities.
