A Transmetro bus caught fire in the town of Retrete, in the Banes municipality, on the afternoon of Monday, August 15, due to technical failures.

The bus was transporting hotel staff from Guardalavaca to Banes.

The deputy director of Transportation in Holguín, Wilmer García, explained that, given the problems presented by the bus, the driver made the passengers get off, but could not prevent the vehicle from being damaged.

According to the first secretary of the Party in Banes, Yunior Ávila, the cause of the fire was a technical problem in the engine's turbo, at the rear, which spread through the electrical system.

Ávila reported on Facebook that a worker received a blow to the leg, but was treated in hospital services and released.
