Our way is to Gusar's Yergi Kek village.

APA TV reports that this village, located at the foot of Shahdag, is located at an altitude of 2370 meters above sea level.

There is a road from Gusar district center to Yergi Kek village in two directions.

One of these roads passes through the village of Sudur, and the other through the village of Leza.

It is 65 kilometers from the center of Gusar to Sudura, and 38 kilometers to Leza village.

But to get to Yergi Kek from each of these villages, you have to cross 9-10 kilometers long mountain roads that are very difficult.

Although the distance from Leza to this village is closer, due to impassable roads, drivers charge 100 manats to go here and back.

The population of the village consists of Lezgins.

There are only 7 houses in the village consisting of 11 houses.

Currently, about 40 residents live in Yergki Kek.

Residents are engaged in animal husbandry and vegetable growing.

Cattle and sheep are kept in each yard, and potatoes are cultivated in farms.

There are no guesthouses or hostels for overnight stays in the village.

But some residents rent a room of their house to tourists for a day for only 40 manats.

Village resident Rahim Shahverdiyev says that winter is very harsh in Yergi Kek, which is located far from the district center.

In winter, 40-50 centimeters of snow falls in the village, and the temperature drops below minus 20 degrees.

In many cases, the transport connection with the district center is interrupted.

Therefore, there are only 4-5 permanent residents in the village.

Several families come to the village in the summer months and do farming, and when the weather cools down, they return to the villages near the district center.

In winter, more dried goods are used as fuel.

The name of Yergi Kek village means "long board" in Lezgi language.

Although surrounded by rocks on all sides, the area where the village is located is surrounded by relatively flat plateaus that allow for vegetable growing.

Ikram Asadov, the representative of the head of the Gusar District Executive Power for the Sudur administrative territorial district, says that 12 households and 88 residents are registered in Yergi Kek village.

The area of the village is 469 hectares.

434 hectares of it are arable.
