UGC thinking of one entrance exam for all, will NEET and JEE be included in CUET

The news that is coming in the media about the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test ie, NEET and JEE, the entrance exam in engineering colleges, seems to suggest that NEET and JEE will now be a thing of the past.

Just as the University Grants Commission had announced the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) this year on the lines of One Exam for One National, it may bring one entrance examination for NEET and JEE.

According to the news, UGC may include NEET and JEE examinations in Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

With this, CUET will become an entrance exam for getting admission in all types of courses in the country.

President of UGC,

Professor M Jagadesh Kumar has told a media outlet that the commission is working on a proposal that will integrate separate entrance examinations for medical and engineering in CUET.

He said that there is no reason why a student should appear in different examinations to prove proficiency in the same subject.

To get admission in medical and dental science in the country, 12th students of PCB group have to clear the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, while to get admission in reputed IITs of the country, 12th students of PCM group have to pass the Joint Entrance Examination. It happens.

At the same time, for getting admission in undergraduate courses in commerce, science and humanities subjects of more than 40 central universities and universities of the country, Common University Entrance Test has to be given.

If the proposal is accepted by the UGC, then 12th pass students of all streams will be required to appear in only one examination.

On the basis of the marks obtained in this entrance examination, the admission of students will be done in different streams.

The higher education regulator is considering this possibility.
