We strongly condemn what was shown in the images showing the burning of Lachin and Khojaly forests by Armenians in recent days, and we consider these actions as a crime against nature and environmental terrorism.

APA reports that this was stated by the Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Firdovsi Aliyev.

He noted that, unfortunately, we are witnessing the continuation of Armenia's ecological terror against Azerbaijan.

"Armenians who have illegally settled in the territories of Azerbaijan continue to carry out an act of ecological terrorism not only against our people, but also against our nature and natural resources, and humanity as a whole.

"During the occupation period, the Armenians, who were not satisfied with burning the forests of Jabrayil, Zangilan, Gubadli, Kalbajar, Shusha, and now deliberately harming the environment by burning our forest areas in the territory of Khojaly and Lachin, show that these areas do not belong to them, and are a direct confirmation of the hostile attitude towards nature."

The deputy minister said that the mentioned event will be investigated in more detail and the existing facts will be assessed in accordance with international law.
