Russia reserves the right to respond to the declaration of persona non grata of its diplomat in Montenegro in accordance with generally accepted practice.

This was stated by the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, quoted by TASS.

Yesterday, Montenegro declared a Russian diplomat persona non grata.

We reserve the right to take retaliatory actions in accordance with generally accepted practice, Zakharova said today.

Russia considers the expulsion of its diplomat from Montenegro "another episode of the West's hybrid campaign", she also pointed out.

We see in this "Podgorica's unwillingness and inability to deviate from the policy of mechanically following such a destructive line to the detriment of international security and cooperation, as well as its own national interests," the diplomat noted.

On April 7, the Montenegrin Foreign Ministry declared four Russian diplomats persona non grata, and on May 31, as a retaliatory measure, Russia declared an employee of the Montenegrin embassy in Moscow an undesirable person, reminds TASS, quoted by BTA.
