The "Change the Administrative Instruction for the headscarf" campaign has ended, as according to the initiators, their request has been taken seriously by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Information (MESTI).

Durim Berisha, the initiator of this initiative, announced that the ministry has given them a guarantee that the article will be changed after the beginning of the new school year.

In a post on Facebook, he wrote that the online petition for 48 hours has collected over 20,000 signatures, of which 45 percent are girls and women.

"Personal data will be destroyed based on the legislation in force.

We thank each person who has supported this noble initiative, through which it is intended to end discrimination and guarantee equal access to education", wrote Berisha.

Further, he said that if MESTI does not fulfill the legal obligation, as it has promised to do, they will use the legal means in force to ensure legality.

"From today, we ask you to stop commenting on the posts of public office bearers.

We inform you that any use from now on of the hashtag #dryshojeni_ua_për_shaminë has nothing to do with the campaign and its initiators", concluded Berisha.
