The Anti Narcotics Task Force Unit of the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested a man who used to smuggle drugs.

According to the police, the arrested youth is a big handler of the gang and has links to Afghanistan.

After the arrest of this man, the police have also exposed the drug trafficking nexus running from Afghanistan to Punjab.

The accused who has been arrested by the police in this case has been identified as Pankaj Vaid alias Sanju Baba. 

According to DCP KPS ​​Malhotra, last month, ANTF busted a drug syndicate operating from Afghanistan in an operation, during the operation 21.4 kg heroin worth Rs 130 crore was recovered and four people including an Afghan national were arrested.

During the investigation of that case, our team got information that a key member of the cartel supplying heroin in Punjab is Amritsar resident Pankaj Vaid alias Sanju Baba.

He used to supply heroin all over Punjab after purchasing heroin from Afghanistan with the help of his other associates in Delhi.

After the arrest of his associates, he had disappeared and was changing his whereabouts frequently.

Acting on this information, the Delhi Police conducted simultaneous raids in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

After this the police arrested Pankaj Vaid from Himachal Pradesh.

Honda City and Glanza cars have been recovered from his possession. 

Malhotra told that the arrested accused told during police interrogation that he came in contact with drug smugglers belonging to Afghanistan when he was lodged in Amritsar jail in a case of theft and Arms Act and started working with them after coming out of jail. done.

Pankaj is also wanted in a UAPA case in Jammu.

He acted as the nodal point for all the local drug suppliers who are involved in the smuggling of heroin in Punjab.

The police is identifying the drug smugglers who came in contact with him.
