Due to the 'full dress rehearsal' being held on Saturday for the Independence Day celebrations, some changes have been made in the traffic system of Delhi.

An alert has also been issued by the police in this regard.

Along with this, many gates of four stations of Delhi Metro have also been closed. 

According to the information given by Delhi Traffic Police, on August 13 and 15 between 6 am to 1 pm • Inner Ring Road - from IP College to Azadpur Chowk • GTK Road - from Shakti Nagar to Azadpur Chowk and • Chhatrasal There is a need to avoid taking the route of Stadium Road, Gujranwala Town.

According to police, around 200 buses and 2,000 light vehicles are expected to ply on these routes, which could lead to some congestion.

Therefore, passengers are advised to take alternate routes on the above dates and times. 

Here, due to 'dress rehearsal', many gates of four stations of Delhi Metro have been closed till 11 am.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) gave this information, these include ITO, Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Delhi Gate metro stations.

DMRC tweeted, "For security reasons, due to dress rehearsal of Independence Day celebrations, the following gates are closed till 11 AM.

These include gate number one, two and three of ITO metro station, gate number four of Red Fort metro station, gate number three and four of Jama Masjid metro station and gate number one, four and five of Delhi Gate metro station.

DMRC said in another tweet, "All stations are open and other gates can be used for entry/exit."

Vehicle parking facility will not be available at metro stations of Delhi from Sunday morning till Monday afternoon in view of security measures on the occasion of Independence Day.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), however, said on Friday that metro train services will continue as normal.

According to a notification issued by DMRC, "In view of the security measures taken on the occasion of Independence Day, vehicle parking is permitted at Metro stations of Delhi from 6 AM on Sunday, 14th August, 2022 to 2 PM on Monday, 15th August, 2022." The facility will not be available.

It is worth noting that the police is very alert regarding the program organized on Independence Day.

Kite catchers and kite fliers have been deployed on terraces and other sensitive places in the Red Fort area to deal with all kinds of threats to the sub-conventional aerial platform ahead of the 75th Independence Day celebrations.

Officials gave this information on Friday. 

Adequate measures have been taken to prevent kites, balloons, drones or flying objects manned or unmanned from reaching the area where Independence Day celebrations will be held on August 15, officials said.
