According to the preliminary data of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the amount of funds directed to the financing of pensions and allowances increased by 4.2 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and reached 2506.9 million manats in January-June of the current year.

APA informs that this was mentioned in the report issued by the State Statistics Committee.

It was reported that 97.4 percent of the funds were pension expenses.

As of July 1, 2022, 1159.3 thousand pensioners were registered in the State Social Protection Fund, which is 11.5 percent of the country's population.

60.5 percent of them receive pensions for old age, 26.6 percent for disability, and 12.9 percent for bereavement.

The average amount of assigned monthly pensions increased by 11.9 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year, and by 10.9 percent compared to the beginning of the current year, and amounted to 368.0 manats and was equal to 44.5 percent of the average monthly salary.

As of July 1, 2022, the number of people receiving benefits for age is 124,100, for disability - 210,400 (52,200 of them are disabled persons under the age of 18), for loss of the head of the family - 53, 2 thousand people, and the number of those who received other types of allowances was 22.5 thousand.

Monthly allowance was given to 207 guardians of children who lost their parents and were deprived of parental care.

In addition, 2011 low-income families with 2082 children under one year of age and 2.5 thousand women with more than five children were given social benefits for 10.1 thousand children, and compensation was given to 327 people who were injured as a result of work injury or occupational disease.

During the six months of 2022, 3.6 thousand people who were harmed as a result of a radiation accident were released for treatment and from serving sentences in penitentiary institutions due to the birth of 29.1 thousand children to 27.7 thousand families, excluding those paid at the expense of mandatory state social insurance fees. One-time benefits were given to 3.7 thousand people.

As of July 1, 2022, 174,600 members of 39,600 low-income families received targeted state social assistance, and its average monthly amount per person was 78.42 manats.

At the same time, 376,800 people from different categories were awarded the scholarship of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
