The IT department had formed five teams of 260 officers for the raids.

Mumbai:

The Income Tax department's raid in Jalna, Maharashtra, in which property worth Rs 390 crore was seized, was no less than a film drama.

All the officers who went to raid had gone as wedding processions.

Elaborate arrangements were made for the entire operation, resulting in seizure of Rs 56 crore in cash, 32 kg of gold and diamonds worth Rs 14 crore, other property documents and digital data.

Let us tell you that on August 3, the IT department used 120 vehicles for the raid.

However, all the vehicles went separately so that no one would get information about the raid.

All the vehicles were decorated in such a way that it looked like they belonged to someone's procession.

Some vehicles also had a board with the words "Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge".

This slogan was often used in cars carrying the groom.

Around 250 Income Tax Department employees and police officers came disguised as "baratis" to conduct raids.

The teams raided premises, warehouses and farmhouses belonging to two business groups dealing in steel, textiles and real estate.

Officials say that this idea was helpful as they were successful in confiscation of jewelery worth crores.

It took the officials about 13 hours to count the cash seized during the raid.

The searches were conducted after inputs about alleged tax evasion by business groups.
