Kajari Teej 2022: Kajari Teej

is a special festival celebrated in Hinduism, on which Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are worshiped with full rituals (Kajari Teej Puja).

On this day, women keep a fast for the longevity of their husbands and pray to Mother Goddess Parvati to maintain happiness and prosperity in the house.

Kajari Teej fast is observed every year on the third day of Krishna Paksha.

Especially in the states of northern India, this fast (Kajari Teej Vraj) is highly recognized among women.

Women of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar celebrate Kajari Teej with great pomp. 


When is Kajari Teej?

According to mythology, Kajari Teej is celebrated three days after Raksha Bandhan and five days before Janmashtami and its fast is observed.

Not only women but unmarried girls also observe a fast on Kajari Teej.

Let us tell you that this year Kajari Teej will be celebrated on Sunday, August 14.

This fast is starting from 12:53 pm on 14th August and will end at 10:35 pm. 


At the same time, the auspicious time of Kajari Teej (Kajari Teej Shubh Muhurt) is in different time periods according to astrology.

Auspicious yogas are being made on this day.

The first of these is Abhijit Muhurta, whose time is believed to be from 12.8 pm to 12.59 pm.

After this, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is being formed, whose time is being told from 9:56 pm on the next morning till 6.09 am on 15 August. 


Kajari Teej Puja Method 


Nirjala Vrat is kept on Kajari Teej in which women do not even take water.

The material which is taken for worship includes raw cotton, new clothes, yellow clothes, banana leaves.

Datura, Bel leaves, Shami leaves, Areca nut, Kalash.

Durva grass, camphor, ghee, akshat, rice, Gangajal and cow's milk etc. are included. 

Waking up in the morning for worship, retiring is done and bathing is done.

After this, Shiv-Gauri of clay are made so that the worship (Kajari Teej Puja) can be done.

The contents of the honey are offered in front of the idols of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.

Donation-dakshina and food are provided to the needy.

Women make up before the moon rises during the night and end the puja with their husbands by offering ablutions to the moon.
