Ukraine  and

urged

both sides to exercise restraint and ensure to ensure that the security of nuclear services should not be put at risk.

Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj, India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said on Thursday, "We are closely monitoring developments related to the safety and security of nuclear power reactors and nuclear facilities in Ukraine. India attaches great importance to the security of these nuclear facilities." Because if an accident happens here, it will have a serious impact on public health and the environment."

On the issue of Ukraine in the UN Security Council, Ambassador Kamboj said that India is concerned about the reports of bombings near the used fuel reserves at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)

director general Rafael Mariano Grossi told the UN Security Council that on August 5, Europe's largest nuclear power plant Zaporizhzia was the target of a bombing.

This can cause multiple explosions near the electrical switchboard and power shutdown.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed serious concern over the situation near the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine and called on all parties to act rationally.

Zaporizhzia is an industrial city located in the south-east of Ukraine.

The nuclear power plant here supplies 40% of the country's nuclear power.

Earlier in early March, the Russian army attacked this power plant.

It was shown in the live feed that the sky was filled with fire in the darkness due to the explosion and smoke spread all around.

After this, US President Joe Biden appealed to Russia to stop its activities at the Nuclear Power Plant of Ukraine and approve emergency services.

Biden also spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the phone and the information about the conversation was shared by Rashtrapati Bhavan.
