The Association of Bulgarian employers' organizations described as scandalous the decision of "Bulgargaz" to hold an auction for the provision of natural gas in September with a starting price of BGN 380 per megawatt hour.

In a letter to the President and Prime Minister, BSK notes that industry, heating and households are "already exhausted" at prices of BGN 300, and points out that if Bulgaria had taken the stated quantities from Gazprom Export, the price for September would have been BGN 250 per megawatt hour.

"The warmth and light of the Bulgarian and ... the stability of the entire energy sector" are put "in question".

"We insist ... the Council of Ministers and the crisis headquarters stop the chaos and start making nationally responsible decisions," reads the letter, supported by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria and the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria.
