The Department of Posts has sold more than one crore national flags in 10 days through its 1.5 lakh post offices spread across the country.

This information has been given in an official statement on Thursday.

"The Department of Posts with its ubiquitous network of 1.5 lakh post offices is implementing the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' program for every citizen of the country.

India Post has sold over one crore national flags within a short span of 10 days through post offices as well as online.

According to the statement, the department has provided the facility of free delivery of the national flag to any address across the country for online sale.

Till now citizens have made online purchase of more than 1.75 lakh national flags through e-post office facility.


The statement said that 4.2 lakh postal workers across the country have propagated the message of "Har Ghar Tricolor" in cities, towns and villages, border areas, Left Wing Extremism-affected districts and hilly and tribal areas.

Along with this, India Post has conveyed the message of 'Har Ghar Tricolor' to every section of the society through Prabhat Pheri, Bike Rally and Chaupal meetings.

In addition, social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook have also been widely used to disseminate the message of the program among digitally connected citizens.
